Layne Greene Covers Second Chances (Gregory Alan Isakov)

There is a myth about cooking that’s been going around. Your emotional state adds flavor to your cooking? Is it true? Well even if it’s not the fact remains that whatever you do, success is dictated by passion. Passion is driven by strong emotions-be it our response to a piece of music, painting or smell. Layne Greene and I love the songs of Gregory Alan Isakov. He is a singer-songwriter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, he emigrated to the United States as a child.

Second Chances is one of my favorite tracks from his 2013 album The Weatherman. And the title itself reflects the moods of the songs as they vary is style and even temperament. Greene made a great cover of this wonderful song showcasing his new love: Playing the slide guitar. I am sure Isakov will be flattered when he hears this cover.
