James Vincent McMorrow is back with the new single Rising Water!

The Irishman with an exquisite and smooth silky voice is back! The new single is Rising Water released in early July this year. James Vincent McMorrow broke into the indie pop/folk scene with Post Tropical and Early in the Morning. His live performances duplicate the meticulous perfection of his studio recordings. And yes that remarkable voice has attracted 100 million Spotify streams!  Rising Water is taken from the new album We Move. Expect the album to sell like hotcakes. Check out the lyric video of Rising Water above.

NEW SINGLE “RISING WATER” AVAILABLE NOW

James Vincent McMorrow, an Irish singer/songwriter from Dublin, has just released his new single Rising Water. The single is the opening track of his upcoming album We Move, which is set to be released on September 2nd via Caroline Records. On July 4th, Rising Water was premiered by Annie Mac on her program ‘Mac’s Hottest Record in the World’ on BBC Radio, listen at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p040fl09.   After its UK debut, the single was released here in the U.S., which McMorrow called home for a few months while he recorded his new album.

In early 2015 McMorrow decamped to Los Angeles for four surreal months, wanting to experience something totally alien to any way he’d ever worked before. McMorrow explains “Making this album was about changing so many things. Physically changing where I was, mentally changing how I think about life, about myself, how I think about making music. Every time I’ve made a record in the past, I’ve walked to the edge of where I’ve wanted to be, I’ve gotten scared, and I’ve walked back to a safe distance.”

Rising Water is the perfect example of what the rest of the album holds. The single, along with the rest of the record, features production from Nineteen85 (Drake, dvsn), Two Inch Punch (Sam Smith, Years & Years), and Frank Dukes (Kanye West, Rihanna), as well as mixing from the legendary Jimmy Douglass (Donny Hathaway, Timbaland).

McMorrow’s 2010 debut ‘Early in the Morning’ achieved platinum-status and reached #1 in his home country of Ireland. His “Breath-taking” (VICE) second album ‘Post Tropical’ was nominated for the Choice Music Prize, and led to sell outs at the biggest venues of McMorrow’s career including two nights at Sydney Opera House, and London’s Barbican & Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Earlier this year, McMorrow surpassed 100 million Spotify streams, recorded a cover of “Wicked Games” for a trailer of season six of Game of Thrones, and was featured on “I’m In Love” off Kygo’s debut LP ‘Cloud Nine.’

Walking On Cars-The Hottest Irish Indie Pop Rock Band This Year

Members: Patrick Sheehy,
Sorcha Durham,
Paul Flannery,
Evan Hadnett,
Dan Devane
Genre: Indie Pop Rock
Home Town: Dingle

Let me tell you how I chanced upon Walking on Cars. I am talking about the hottest indie pop rock band to come out of the Emerald Isle. I was browsing through YouTube for “fresh awesome bands” and their name came up. I remember it was Two Stones that caught my attention. It was one of the biggest hits in the UK when it was release and it is still massive. Currently it has more than one million views since its release two years ago. With their US tour on the way, I know that the band will gather more fans.12190961_1039796956040840_1991186454690506930_n.jpg

Their music stands between the delicate melodies-typical of bands using the piano/keyboards as a dominant instrument-and the big arena sound soaked in energy and sheer talent. This is due to supernova aura of lead vocalist Patrick Sheehy. His tall build and intense gaze can draw you to the music like a druid harnessing the force of nature to enchant you. You add talented and equally charismatic band members you got an insanely beautiful musical treat.

The band are Sheehy, Sorcha Durham, Paul Flannery, Evan Hadnett and Dan Devane. They emerged from the windswept Dingle, Country Kerry. Actually most of their music videos were shot on that location. Whoever is in charged of their music videos deserve a praise as the scenes really give justice to their songs. Their album is called Everything This Way released this year. It has twelve songs and many of the songs in this album have potential mainstream appeal. And I mean top -of -the -charts kind of hit potential.

The new single is Speeding Cars. Now if you haven’t yet, you better check out the music video as it is fucking amazing! It is the most haunting thing to come out this year and another kudos to the creative team for giving us something fascinating.

Watch list: Rachael Mc Cormack – Under The Bullet [4K | Music Video]

Hot Press promo shot.

Hot Press promo shot.

When was the last time you’ve seen a high quality video in youtube? I give my vote to this one as it is shot in 4K. You know those high definition videos made for retina iMacs that have vibrant colors.

Under The Bullet showcases the amazing vocal range of Irish singer/songwriter Rachael McCormack. She’s been giggling all her life and supporting local bands before launching her own solo career. Seems like good karma is on her side. This song/music video represents what it is to be a strong Irish woman in the midst of a destructive relationship. It is not about crying but getting back and kicking someone who has wronged you. What a good thing! This video has also been featured in Soundfeed: http://thesoundfeed.com/rachael-mc-cormack-bullet/

This is also accompanied with a good Hot Press promo: http://www.hotpress.com/Rachael-McCormack/news/WATCH-Rachael-McCormack-unveils-new-video/15424920.html

Florescent by Protobaby addresses our generation of excess and isolation

The video starts out with a paranoid guy walking down the narrow street then getting harassed by a couple of bystanders. He gets into his place then starts putting on that virtual reality glasses. Now, I gotta warn you. You need to have a strong stomach to finish the music video because the scenes that follow are graphic.

Man, that is one hell of an actor. A good one. I would definitely refuse the part(unless it’s from a favorite band and knowing my track record I can be easily seduced). Now I know the video is going to shake the indie scene. It has made a huge impression. It is hard to ignore. I think a lot of netizens out there think so too! It’s taken from Protobaby’s debut album ‘Spark.’ Flourescent is directed and edited by Shane Serrano. Starring Adam Traynor.

…..Which leads me to the music of the band. I love the name. It sounds cute even though the music hardly sounds the same. Think of Joy Division and old Cure. Now you get the picture. They have another awesome track called State of Affairs which finally cements my liking for this band’s music.

Protobaby are a four piece band with members Colm McGuinness, Tony Monahan, Bryan Ronan and Aidan Graham. They are from Limerick Ireland. The same place that gave us the Cranberries.

The team:

Colm McGuinness: Vocals-This guy’s got amazing pipes. I love his style of singing. It has a dark beauty and can be quite expressive.

Tony Monahan: Electric Guitar-Now that’s the kind of playing I miss.

Bryan Ronan: Drums-He is pounding those skins with gusto.

Aidan Graham: Bass-He’s got the groove and he is the reason why I got to know this band.

Check the video out and if you like Flourescent then do share it.
