I think what separates greatness from mediocrity is not just a matter of opinion. It’s all about filling the plate by making the whole experience memorable. This is the kind of consistency I found in the music of Joey Smokes. He puts so much detail in his work. “Don’t FxxK With Me (I Will Find You)(Official w/ Explicit Lyrics) has already zapped more than 60,000 views in just three days! That’s quite a feat.
His style grows in you in a light speed. This is because of the clever hooks and dynamic structure in the music. Between splashes of guitar- driven choruses enters the quieter instrumental parts that convey atmosphere and thoughtful playing. He reminds me of Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda and actor C. Thomas Howell. His energy as a performer is like a force of nature. He exhibits strong vocals with impressive range.
His other music video ”No Ending” (Our Night) attracted more than 474,000 views already. His songs are rooted in the Hard/ Alternative Metal/ Indie/ Punk category. The lyrics deal with revenge and falling into hard times. I think his appeal lies in his ability to captivate listeners in an audio-visual level. His renditions have that magnetic core drawing listeners into the heart of his sentiments without being too ingratiating. During the last part of the song I’m Not Ready , he punches off that overwhelming vocal catharsis that you don’t really hear these days among other artists.
In this track, his voice has that slight quiver that displays sensitivity in the midst of the raging chorus. A song that really resonates these universal sentiments inside us. Joey Smokes is the real deal. He won’t take bullsh*t so you better not f**k with him!
You can buy this track from itunes.
Aron Lyrd redefines alternative rock. The melodic guitars and easy to remember melodies are what make his music a must have for those who miss the kind of alternative music made in the 90s. He’s also got amazing pipes as he croons on the sensual Wasted. The track begins softly before exploding into the visceral force of the chorus.
I admire his approach to rock music. There is a friendly vibe that runs all over his album. My favorite tracks are Day Dreams, Time Goes Forward, Wasted and Hey Hey. It is hard to describe his music using prose alone so you got to experience it to KNOW.
One of the reasons why I lost the desire to listen to the radio is the lack of real music. Everything sounds manufactured. And to have artists like Aron Lyrd creating music like that makes me glad we have the internet. So enjoy the amazing self-titled album from this Shippensburg, PA native and spread the word!

Hellloooo indie fanatics. Today is another great day for music. I want to bring this great guy to your attention. He has a new track out called Metamorpho bro. Jork explores musical realms very few artists would. I mean just listen to this track and you will know what I am talking about. It will rearrange the way you think and listen to music. I love how he puts so much effort in the production of his tracks. But let us be honest here. This isn’t something that anyone who is into mainstream would really dig. It takes repeated listens until it grows on you. And when it does, expect roots and branches…and even flowers. I know I am hearing two musical ideas in this track but I just want to be sure. So I asked Jork a.k.a Lee Tobin.
According to Jork:
I wrote two melodies and two harmonies. I wanted to make the two work together, or at least change a little to fit together.
Bingo! That explains why I think I am hearing two tracks at the same time. Clever.

I will go ahead and check the other artists. My, my this is getting to be an addiction! According to the site’s description:
Devoted to ambient and ethereal music
Welcome to my ambient, ethereal world!
It is my hope to provide you with a central location to find information on some of my favorite ambient, electronic, and ethereal artists – from those you may have heard of, and hopefully a few that maybe you haven’t. I’m always searching for DJ’s that are also mixing their own chill compilations.
Since my normal job is computer related, I usu. spend 8-10 hours a day in front of the computer screen, and listening to my favorite music.
Stay tuned to learn about the artists, my fav CD’s, and any new DJ’s or artists that I may stumble upon in my search.
